73% of employers would employ someone with volunteering experience over one without. UEL recognises the importance of student volunteering and is pleased to announce the Volunteering Awards for 2017/2018. Achieving an Award will help you stand out from the crowd in today’s competitive jobs market.
The more you volunteer, the higher the Award.
Bronze Award: 25 hours
Silver Award: 50 hours
Gold Award: 100 hours
Platinum Award: 200 hours
You will be presented with a Volunteering Award certificate on completion of a certain number of hours of volunteering and a successful application. This award is only for current UEL students.
Pretty much any kind of unpaid work or contribution that you have made to a charity, public sector organisation (such as a hospital or library) or community group. If you are unsure whether your work counts as volunteering, please contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Students who successfully apply for a volunteering award will be invited to the UEL Awards Ceremony.

You must make sure that you have logged your hours on the hub. This takes two minutes and can be done at the link here. Simply log in and click on the “log hours” button near the top of the screen. Note: The hours you include on your application form must match those on the hub.

Yes indeed! You can use up to three different volunteering roles to contribute to your overall hours. You can add up to three on the application form.
